Contra Costa Civic Theatre

We have dozens of volunteer opportunities available; everything from helping in the office to building sets to ushering before the show. We’ve listed a few below to get you thinking.

Ushering
Be the face of CCCT and help our patrons enjoy a magical evening of theatre. Duties include greeting the patrons as they arrive at theatre, taking tickets, helping them to their seats, and serving concessions at intermission. Plus, you’ll get to see the show for free! Estimated Total Hours: 4 hours per show.

Technical Volunteer Positions
Crew Person: This volunteer will be responsible for moving, storing and setting the production’s set pieces and/or props. Requirements: Ability to push/pull 50 pounds; move quickly and silently; make yourself available for technical rehearsals and performances (allowances can be made).

Dresser: This volunteer will be responsible for assisting cast members to change costumes quickly. Requirements: Organize costumes; work quickly and quietly with cast members; learn the tricks of the quick change; make yourself available for technical rehearsals and performances (allowances can be made).

Light Crew: Assist our light designer in hanging and focusing lighting instruments. Requirements: Working on 7 to 12 foot ladders; lifting 25 pounds; make yourself available to a 5 to 7 hour period of time (allowances can be made).

Rail Person: This volunteer will be responsible for lowing and raising the main drape and/or scenery. Requirements: Ability to pull 50 to 75 pounds; make yourself available for technical rehearsals and performances (allowances can be made).
