Shady Shakespeare

Shady Shakespeare Theatre Company is committed to making Shakespeare accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds and to building community through cultural participation. Our mission is to share the works of William Shakespeare in a way that demystifies the rich and challenging language of Shakespeare without dumbing it down. We currently produce two plays in repertory each summer in Sanborn Park in Saratoga. Additionally, we now offer an indoor production of a classic play by a contemoprary or classic offer in late spring. Our popular Shakespeare Camp for Kids is just one segment of our eduction program called the Bard Academy of the Bay Area. This program serves to introduce young people to Shakespearean performance as well as offer opportunities for adults to advance their careers through training.

Shady Shakespeare (a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization) is operated entirely by volunteers whose duties include everything from set and costume production, to fundraising, to concession sales, and much more. Our audience ranges from long-time theatre lovers to families with young children who are experiencing theatre for the first time. We hope you will consider joining the SSTC family either by volunteering or by simply coming to enjoy a show.

The information above can be found on the official website of Shady Shakespeare. For more details about the organization and to find out how you can volunteer, please visit their website: http://www.shadyshakes.org
