O.B.U.G.S.

The mission of OBUGS is to build healthy communities through programs offered to children, youth, and families in a network of school and neighborhood gardens, green spaces, and farmers’ markets.

OBGUS’ vision is that children from disadvantaged families will be educated about nutrition, health, and sciences starting at a young age. They will have safe venues for physical activity. Fresh produce will be available to all children and families, and they will enjoy eating healthier foods. The children and youth in OBUGS will succeed academically and grow into Oakland’s community leaders. OBUGS will build on its collaborations with other food, arts, and education organizations to serve as a successful model of healthy community building for other agencies in the region.

The information above can be found on the official website of O.B.U.G.S.. For more details about the organization and to find out how you can volunteer, please visit their website: http://obugs.org/
