Jewish Community Center of the East Bay

Jewish Community Center of the East Bay

The JCC of the East Bay has provided a Jewish gateway and home to a large community since 1978. People of all ages, faiths and backgrounds are invited to join us as we build community, meet new friends, and learn and celebrate together. Our outstanding programming includes a year-round preschool, afterschool, summer and vacation camps, senior meals and activities, and cultural and recreational events.

Purpose

The JCCEB promotes intellectual, experiential and spiritual exploration of Jewish culture and tradition; builds joyful, progressive and inclusive community; and inspires the active pursuit of Tikkun Olam (repair of the world).

Values

Hachnassat Orchim – Welcoming
We are creating a nurturing, supportive and safe environment, with doors open to people from all backgrounds.

K’lal Yisrael – Inclusive Jewish Community
We are building a trans-denominational Jewish community that reflects the complexity of Jewish identity and the diversity of Jewish expression.

Chaverut – Friendship
We believe in the transformative power of community to open hearts, create understanding and build lasting friendships.

Yetziratiut – Creativity
In the spirit of the dynamic, ever evolving nature of Jewish civilization, we are a catalyst for new and creative approaches to Jewish thought, culture and community.
