Institute on Aging

Institute on Aging (IOA) is a community-based, non-profit organization that touches the lives of thousands of seniors in San Francisco, Marin, and the Peninsula. IOA’s service mission is to enhance the quality of life for our diverse community of adults as they age. Our breadth of services enable elders in the San Francisco Bay Area to maintain their health, well-being, independence, and participation in the community. In our 25+ years of serving the Bay Area, IOA has developed and provided innovative programs in health, social service, creative arts, community and professional education, and research.

Guiding Values
For those we serve

We continually develop our knowledge, skills and resources to provide programs and services of the highest quality. We will serve all with respect and care, without regard to income, race, religious preference, or sexual orientation.

For their family and friends

We are sensitive to the concerns and responsive to the needs of family, partners and friends.

For the community

We advocate together with others in the community for needed services and programs. We maintain close collaborative relationships with other community organizations and agencies.

For those who support us

We recognize that your time, financial support and interest make our work possible. We value this support and will use these resources wisely, working together to enhance the lives of those we serve.
