Founded in 1979, Friends for Youth’s Mentoring Services program has had success far beyond the national average in helping young people stay out of trouble. Over 1,800 youth have been in our program with over 90% maintaining their commitment to their mentoring relationship. Studies have consistently shown that youth in our program stay in school, improve their school performance, are more motivated, and rarely have future involvement with the Juvenile Justice System.
